Since our local branch closed in December, residents have been forced to travel to St Blazey to pick up their pensions and to send or collect parcels. This is inconvenient for some, and impossible for others who don't own a car.
Local retailers are suffering too as many people who now collect their pensions in Bodmin or St Austell are doing their shopping there too instead of in Lostwithiel.
Owners of shops, cafes or restaurants have to choose between travelling daily to another town or keeping cash on their premises overnight.
Many people in Lostwithiel also run small businesses from home. Posting and receiving parcels from another town means hours added to their working week.
