Paul Tyler is joining us to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of him reclaiming the North Cornwall parliamentary seat from the Conservatives in the 1992 General Election. His wife Nicky will be coming too.
Paul is the campaigner's campaigner. Everyone knew someone who had been helped by Paul, whatever their politics. He fought for local campaigns, such as getting the flyover for the A30 at Kennards House and keeping North Cornwall hospitals open; and national ones - opposing the Poll Tax and holding the government to account in the BSE crisis. His majority in the 1997 general election is still the highest of any Liberal Democrat.
Now in the House of Lords he campaigns for that House to be elected and for a fair BREXIT deal.
