Support our leisure centres

Lib Dems on Cornwall Council are calling on the Government to provide financial support for Cornwall's leisure centres to secure their financial future.

The central Conservative government have so far refused to support Cornish leisure centres to help them reopen following lockdown, despite providing financial support to leisure centres upcountry.

The Lib Dems and their Independent colleagues on Cornwall Council have provided a relief package enabling Cornwall’s leisure centres to reopen by mid October but are concerned that the continuing lack of Government financial support could put their future in jeopardy.

The Lib Dems are calling the public to back their campaign for leisure centre support by signing a petition.

We the undersigned call upon the Government to provide Cornwall's leisure centres with a package of financial support to ensure their ongoing viability during the Covid crisis. Health and well being of the workforce are vital to economic prosperity of our country and the Governments refusal of financial aid is shortsighted in the extreme.
