Liberal Democrats on Cornwall Council are working to support Cornish households, hard-hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, through help with council tax. 25,000 Council Tax support awards of £150 have now been made to working age people, a total of £3.7million.
Deputy Leader of Cornwall Council, Adam Paynter:
“We are working hard with our independent colleagues on the Council to ensure that families and households in Cornwall are given as much help as they need through the coronavirus pandemic. We welcome this funding, but there are still significant gaps in the Tory Government’s Covid-19 support.
“We’ve seen many of our residents struggling so we’re pleased that the payments are being processed rapidly.”
