Cornwall Council’s Carers’ Parking Permit scheme which enabling carers to park on double yellow lines whilst supporting clients in the own home, is to be extended and will now include all District Nurses.
The trial scheme which was due to finish at the end of March has proven to be a great success. Virus permitting, staff are working to produce new permits as quickly as possible and in the interim the old passes will be recognised by officers until the new permits are released.”
Geoff Brown, Lib Dem portfolio holder for transport said,
“The decision to extend the permit scheme to all District Nurses in the community recognises the crucial daily care for our most vulnerable residents.
“We are currently awaiting a list of vehicle details from the NHS Trust and once this is available staff will prioritise issuing of the new permits. It is good to be able to give some unqualified good news in these worrying times.”
